Answers to common questions,
and how to reach us.
What is the joint price?
The joint price is the midpoint between the seller's minimum fee and the buyer's maximum budget. If the seller set a not-to-exceed amount and the midpoint is higher, or the buyer set a minimum amount and the midpoint is lower, the joint price is that amount instead.
Does the other party see my budget/fee when I participate in a Discovery?
No. Your budget is never shown to the seller and you never see the minimum fee they submit, but both parties see the joint price from the Discovery. We don't share if the joint price was set by a seller's not-to-exceed or a buyer's minimum amount. This makes it difficult to derive the other party's budget/fee from the joint price, since it isn't always the midpoint of the range.
Is the joint price legally binding?
No. The joint price is for informational purposes only.1 It is not a contract, agreement, or legal commitment. The seller may use the joint price to price their services.
How will my data be used?
Our business relies on being a trusted, independent tool.
- We don't sell the data we collect1,2
- We don't use advertising cookies3
- We use privacy-forward analytics4
How much does Joint Price cost?
A Discovery is free if there's no joint price. If there is one, the seller pays a fee of 2% of the minimum engagement value to reveal the joint price, but only if it will cover the cost of the fee. Our revenue comes solely from these Discovery fees: we don't sell the data we collect1, and we're proudly independent with no outside investors.
What happens if my budget is too low?
Buying
We let both parties know there's no joint price. We don't say which numbers caused it.
How do I create a joint price Discovery as a buyer?
Buying
We're working on it. For now, you can ask service providers to share their fees using Joint Price.
What happens if my fees don't overlap with the buyer's budget?
Selling
In that case, there's no joint price. We let both parties know, without saying which numbers caused it, and there's no Discovery fee for the seller.
How will my client's email be used?
Selling
We only use the client's email to invite them to participate in the Discovery and to communicate when there is relevant activity as described here.1
What is your refund policy?
Selling
Joint Price charges a one-time Discovery fee per price Discovery. No payment is collected until you choose to reveal the joint price. Once the joint price has been revealed, the service is complete and the Discovery fee is non-refundable.1
